Not a lot happened this week. Paul is working hard in lab and I had work. I bought my plane tickets this week for the end of August. We're excited to see everyone!
This week was pretty good. We thought our struggle with the heat was coming to a close but, even though the temperatures are getting lower, the humidity is really taking off and is not fun. Monday, I was exhausted from getting home late. Our flight got in around 1 AM. I showed up to work around 10 AM and my boss was unconcerned haha. He left at 4 PM, so I left shortly after. I put our stuff away then Paul came home and we got some Chik Fil A for dinner then we both just passed out from being so tired. Wednesday, Paul got his sequencing back for the DNA fragments that he's been working on for over a month and it came back correct, so he is finally able to move on to the next part of his project! His PI literally texted him "Yaaas!" We also heard that Ben has been reassigned to Oregon temporarily while his visa to France gets processed. Thursday was frustrating for me because my coworker set up this big, all-day meeting with a client and then the...
Monday started with my 30-week doctor's appointment. Everything looks good and baby Mary is healthy. Then I went to work and the gym then came home and made an enchilada casserole. Thank you to Wendy for the package! and Happy Birthday to Hannah! Tuesday I got a pregnancy support belt because I started having ligament pain over the weekend and my doctor recommended I get one for like the third time, so I finally did. I made coconut-crusted cod with sweet chili sauce for dinner. Wednesday, I chatted with mom about the shower for Thursday, I made lasagna for dinner and requested an appointment with a potential pediatrician. Thursday morning I got a call from the pediatrician's office and they said that I just need to make an appointment once I am discharged from the hospital and that I will be taken care of by their nursing staff until they can get an appointment with the doctor scheduled (several months after the birth). I didn't like...
Dear Wendy, I just wanted to let you know what an inspiration you are to me. Your quiet strength brings so much comfort to me and to the whole family. Underneath all the craziness of family gatherings is the foundation of love, trust, patience and respect that ties us all together. I know I am not alone in appreciating your constant effort to anchor your family in Christ. Though it is easy to be apprehensive with new people coming into the family and to be worried about differences we see in each other, you are the first to sow seeds of love and acceptance. You see these differences as beautiful, not scary. You set the tone for us to look past unimportant factors and to appreciate having time together as a family. I have enjoyed growing closer to you over the past five years and have been blessed by your friendship and prayers. Through the challenges that Paul and I have faced together so far in our marriage, we have always felt that we ca...
