This week had a lot more going on than last week.  So Monday I went to get my Texas Drivers license but I didn't have all the right documents so they had me come back the next day, which was really nice because I've had that appointment since December.  We had to wait that long because you need to have a Texas car registration first and, because of COVID, there was a long wait for that as well.  But now I have a TXDL, now I'm just waiting to get the official one in the mail.

Thursday was an eventful day in that Emily, Paul's sister, invited me to join her and Wendy in finding her prom dress virtually.  She found a really beautiful dress and it was so fun to do that with them even though I'm far away.  James also got back to Africa safely, thank goodness!  And a happy birthday to Whitney!

Friday I got a raise!  I'm super happy about it too because we had a girl quit and even before then I was taking more and more work, so now I feel better that I'm being compensated for the increased workload.

Saturday I got my second Covid shot! Now I'm fully vaccinated.  I also got some good sewing done and finished the bottom of my skirt.  Now I just have to sew it together.

As for my plants, the hibiscus is struggling a little bit.  The leaves look really healthy and I got a flower to sort of bloom but it has already fallen off.  I don't think it's getting enough sun since we only get a little in the morning and evening on the porch.  The herbs are doing really well, especially the basil.

Paul is doing well.  He is learning a lot in Dr. Nam's lab and is excited to be done with classes in a couple of weeks so he can spend all his time in lab.

Congrats to Ben for getting his mission call to Paris, France!  He's leaving August 25th.  We are very excited for him :)
