August 2-8

Monday, Paul is a week into training Motamed and Dr. Nam has given him new responsibilities in the lab.  Since Paul has been working independently for several months now, Dr. Nam has given him at least two big projects that both she and Paul are super excited about, given Paul the responsibility of training the new lab tech and given him administrative responsibilities.  This just shows how much Paul is learning and progressing in lab and showing him how much confidence Dr. Nam has in him.  This past weekend, Paul was working with viral expression systems to generate proteins that he will be doing experiments on.

Funny story on Monday.  My boss bought lunch for everyone and asked me to order "Jimmy-Johnson's".
Funny story on Tuesday.  I startled Paul when I was going to bed and he was already asleep.  He was scared and said, "Sarah! Look! there are flying things!"  I knew he was sleep talking and helped him calm down and go back to sleep.

Thursday, I got home a little early and got ready for dinner.  Paul texted saying he would be another hour and a half but tricked me! and walked in the door two minutes later! He brought home a bouquet of roses and a piece of red velvet cake.  He changed his clothes and we bumped up our dinner reservations since he got home so early.

Friday, Paul went to the drivers license division to get a Texas drivers license. He said it went smoothly and he was able to get it okay.  That was really nice because we set his original appointment in December, so it finally got done.
The weekend has been relaxing.  We just cleaned and prepped for the week and listened to podcasts.  Lately we have been combining the two primary groups, so it has just been one round of singing time instead of two.  So I was able to go to Relief Society and I feel like I'm getting more and more involved with the ward.
