Sunday night I made pumpkin overnight oats for us for Monday breakfast. I am really ready for fall but it is still hot here, so I am just incorporating fall foods. Paul had to get up early for an exam. Luckily breakfast was made and he had something substantial to eat before going to class. The exam lasted two hours! I couldn't believe it.
Last week Paul sent proteins he's been working on forever over to Germany and UPS was supposed to get it over there in three days but put it in a warehouse where it is probably still sitting. The protein was packed in dry ice because it has to be kept at a certain temperature or it will degrade. Paul even got a bad burn from the dry ice while preparing the package! So Paul checked the status last Saturday and it was still in a warehouse in Kentucky, 5 days after he sent the package! when it was supposed to have arrived in Germany by last Thursday. So on Monday, Dr. Nam went after UPS for ruining all the work Paul had been working on. It was good she got mad at them but unfortunately there was nothing to be done about the ruined proteins.
We went to Chipotle for dinner since it was a hard day and turned in early.
Tuesday I got home early from work and felt very motivated to have fun in the kitchen. I tried two muffin recipes that I have been saving. I made these blueberry banana muffins that didn't turn out. They were really dense. I also tried a pumpkin muffin recipe and those turned out perfectly! Paul loved them. After that I made chicken pita bowls for dinner.
Wednesday I had time to straighten up a little bit after Paul left for lab and before I had to go to work. I took the opportunity to take out all our fall stuff since it was the first day of fall.
Thursday, Paul had a presentation. He forgot his water bottle upstairs and his throat got scratchy during the presentation but other than that he did a great job!
Friday, I made the pumpkin overnight oats again. At lunch, I went with my work to look at new office spaces since the contract is up on the one we're in at the end of the year. The new building isn't too far away and the office space is being custom made, so it will be brand new. We are currently on the second floor and the new office space will be on the 10th or 11th floor. It doesn't make any difference to me though because they are going to move December 27th and my last day will probably be December 23rd.
Paul and I got pizza and watched the first Spiderman with Toby McGuire for our date night.
Saturday we got up early and got our cars inspected so we can renew our registration before the month is over, then we went to breakfast before Paul went to lab. We just watched movies later that night, including the next Spiderman movies and the new Little Women movie. Paul was hesitant to watch it but he ended up liking it! I like this version better than the 90s version and the book because I feel like they tried to help the audience get into the romance between Jo and Frederick more, as well as between Laurie and Amy. The book focuses too much on Jo and Laurie for them not to end up together, which I was frustrated with as the reader. We also went grocery shopping, and while we were out I found this cute halloween calendar to add to our fall decor, and it was on sale!
Sunday the primary continued practicing the new song for the primary program. The chorister will be out of town the week we planned to have the program, so it got pushed back to Halloween.
